Is It Time For a Second Declaration of Independence?

On November 6, 2009, the House Committee of Ways and Means issued a press release warning Americans of the draconic measures contained within H.R. 3962 (as amended). The Pelosi bill mandates that citizens purchase health care or face fines and/or imprisonment. H.R. 3962 was passed at 11pm on Saturday night, November 7, 2009. (Hat tip Rushlight)

On Thursday, October 22, 2009, Pelosi was asked by a reporter from CNSNews.com if the Constitution authorizes Congress to order Americans to purchase health insurance. Her response was:

“Are you serious? Are you serious?”

Pelosi's press secretary later responded to written follow-up questions from CNSNews.com by emailing CNSNews.com a press release on the “Constitutionality of Health Insurance Reform,” that argues that Congress derives the authority to mandate that people purchase health insurance from its constitutional power to regulate interstate commerce.


Article I, section 8 of the United States Constitution describes Congressional authority. No single statement was found to even imply that officials elected by United States citizens have the right to demand the purchase of any form of health care.

The United States Bill of Rights lays out what the Founders felt was imperative for freedom. Amendment 10 states:

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.


This proclaims that if not stated within the Constitution, the federal government has no right to make new laws nor to obtain more power.

A famous saying is that history repeats itself. However it does not repeat itself exactly. Instead, historical events bearing frightening similarity to the past do indeed repeat when those in the present do not learn from such. Americans of today are experiencing events similar to what the colonies faced prior to the Revolutionary War. Upon viewing the Declaration of Independence, one will find comments such as these:

He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.

He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:

For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments:

Nor have We been wanting in attentions to our Brittish brethren. We have warned them from time to time of attempts by their legislature to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us. We have appealed to their native justice and magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the ties of our common kindred to disavow these usurpations, which, would inevitably interrupt our connections and correspondence. They too have been deaf to the voice of justice and of consanguinity. We must, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity, which denounces our Separation, and hold them, as we hold the rest of mankind, Enemies in War, in Peace Friends.


The United States of the 20th century and beyond has come to resemble the condition of the 13 colonies prior to their revolt from England. Government corruption has become widespread. Multiple government agencies, unauthorized by the Constitution, have sprung into being. As well, the fundamental forms of our government are being subtly altered with unelected czars being placed into positions of power. States’ rights have been overshadowed and replaced by the federal government, freedom of speech has been neutered, private corporations have been seized, federal control of currency is maintained by a non government agency (the Federal Reserve), and the American populace is being taxed into poverty.

As the colonists before us, we have attempted to address these issues with those in power. We have done so through Town Hall gatherings, Tea Party protests, and protests before the actual House of Congress in Washington, D.C. Yet has anyone in power truly listened? Unfortunately, the answer is no. The most recent example of this was the passage of H.R. 3962 in the depth of a Saturday night – much like thieves in the darkness moving in when their victims are unaware.

Corruption and injustice now infest our highest political offices, yet none with power whatsoever feel inclined to fight it. Perhaps it truly is time to declare a second Declaration of Independence and throw off, once again, these chains of tyranny.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”

How H. R. 3962 Was Passed - Satire Piece

It has been reported that B.O. had an emergency meeting with his Democrat "posse" before the House vote on H. R. 3962 passed in the middle of the night. By using my exceptional abilities to go back in time and secretly listen in on the meeting, this is what I saw and heard!

The following is a true story. Only the names of the innocent have been changed to protect their identity.

Flashes of lightning briefly shown through the closed curtains of the darkened room. Through the veil of blue smoke produced by a smoldering Cuban cigar, dark forms were huddled before a lone figure as he stood before them. Only the sound of rain tapping against the roof and the occasional bout of thunder broke the deathly silence within.

“I am greatly displeased,” said the man finally in his deep baritone voice. “Pelosi, tell me why I should consider your efforts on my behalf as a success.”

Her voice shaking in fear, her second chin trembling in motion with her body, she replied, “Don Obama, I have worked hard for your glorious vision! Through my efforts and those of the Association for Community Organization Reform Now we were -”

“Enough!” shouted the tall figure as he pointed his Cuban, ash falling from it’s lit tip. “I am well aware of ACORN’s efforts on my behalf! Through them, many votes were bought! If it wasn’t for those two students who infiltrated and exposed them, they would still be fighting strongly for our cause! Secretary Napolitano, please explain how you managed to let two people, barely in their 20’s expose my operation?”

Sweat glistening on the pale skin of her brow, Napolitano slowly stood up. “Don Obama, (peace be upon you), they were plants of the freedom loving Capitalists. Who knew that they would have the audacity to –? “

“Dare you use ‘audacity’ in my presence?” The Don asked, visibly shaking with rage. “Do you not remember my slogan, ‘The Audacity to Hope’?”

“Forgive my ignorance, great one (peace be upon you)!” replied Napolitano and she quickly sat down with her head lowered. The others in the room shuffled aside in an attempt to place some distance between them and her. It was obvious that they were not eager to share in her fate.

“Our situation is shaky,” the deep voice continued. “Patriots have risen throughout their country opposing my plan. I own an automotive giant, banking industries, and the news media.” He gave a silent nod to Keith Olbermann who sat proudly, smiling as a lost puppy. Reaching out to gently pat the lap dog at his feet, the Don continued, “However, my ‘Health Care Reform’ bill seems to have halted in Congress. It may be that my plans will be stopped well short of their intended conclusion. For your sakes, I hope someone has a plan to resolve this critical issue.”

Sensing a way to redeem herself in the eyes of her master, Pelosi shot to her feet. “Oh but we do, oh great one (peace be upon you)! Thanks to the efforts of our unofficial allies, America is in mourning for her lost soldiers in Fort Hood. Now is the time to strike! I intend to allow the conservatives to modify H. R. 3962 so that government money will not be used to fund abortions except in rare cases such as rape or,” she snickered evilly, ”cases where the mother’s life is threatened. Of course, we’ll make sure the American public stays uninformed to the truth that with our medical technology it is almost impossible – well, at least until this bill is passed.”

Her second chin swinging with renewed effort, she continued. “Then to prevent our enemies in talk radio and, I hesitate to say their name, Fox News, from fighting this, we’ll leak that the vote may not come until next week. We’ll hold debate deep into the night, and while the majority of American’s are asleep, we’ll vote on the bill. I’m pretty certain that with the abortion amendments, we will be able to garnish enough votes.”

Silence filled the room as the Don stared long and hard at the bold Speaker of the House while taking the occasional draw on his Cuban. After enough silence had filled the room in an apparent effort to impress the gravity of the situation on those in attendance, the Don spoke, “Your plan has merit. I will look past your previous failures if you manage to keep your word to me, this time. Be it known, however, that if you fail me in this, your future as my political voice to Congress will be in doubt… perhaps permanently. Do we have an understanding?”

The bold smile that was plastered on Pelosi’s mouth disappeared instantly. Not even the injections of Botox could not prevent her face from revealing the truth of her situation. “I… I understand, oh great one (p - peace be upon you),” she stammered. “I will not fail you!”

“See to it that you do not,” the Don replied.

Hours later found the Don sitting alone in the once filled room. The storm outside had strengthened with thunder echoing off the close walls. Yet he wore a smile. Pelosi’s plan had worked. H. R. 3962 had passed in the middle of the night, 220 for, 215 against.

Who are the innocents, you may ask? There are no innocents.

Although this is a satire piece, it's not hard to extrapolate that something along these lines occurred. Deception, threats and middle of the night meetings along with bribery seems to be the way the Chicago machine in the White House does business. Let us hope that the Senate will not fall to such strong arm tactics.

Who Needs to Prevent Backlash Against Muslims?

Janet Napolitano, while in the United Arab Emirates, stated the she and her department of Homeland Security are working hard to prevent a backlash against Muslims.

Janet Napolitano says her agency is working with groups across the United States to try to deflect any backlash against American Muslims following Thursday's rampage by Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, a Muslim who reportedly expressed growing dismay over the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.


My question to her is this – just what is she doing in a foreign country during a time of attacks against her own nation? What takes more precedence, sucking up to foreign Arabs or being in your home nation providing moral support and actively seeking to prevent any future attacks from occurring?

As far as preventing “backlash” against resident Muslims, that is no longer the American civilian’s responsibility. It’s beyond time that the Muslim community stood up and lead a vocal and active campaign of their own to not only condemn these acts, but to prove to the American society at large that Islam really is the religion of peace they claim it to be.

Instead, all we hear are groups such as CAIR complain about perceived (and sometimes contrived) injustices committed against Muslims. Yet the American public daily runs into situations where honor killings occur, bigoted cabbies mistreat passengers, corporations and individuals being threatened, etc al. The only time we hear anything from the Islamic population in American that “shows” they are lovers of peace is after the fact of some horrible slaughter. Why not stay vocal and pro-active during times when such slaughters are not happening?

The average American is a peace loving individual. We don’t seek conflict. Yet we will vigorously stand for our rights and the rights of others. We don’t need someone shoving phrases such as, “Islam is a religion of peace,” when all we see is the opposite. To the average American, actions speak louder then words. It’s time for the Islamic community to start backing up their words with those actions.

In the black of night, Pelosi snuck in a vote on the "health care reform" bill H. R. 3962, which sadly passed. This new administration promised openness. Sadly, that was not the case. It's final form was drafted outside of the public eye. The bill was posted here for review. Consisting of nearly 2,000 pages, it proposes major socialist changes to our health care system. It now goes before the Senate.

Appalled but no longer surprised

I was speaking to my father on the phone yesterday about events that were happening at the local "Constitution Class" here in Pocatello. I mentioned some of what I wrote a couple articles back in my posting about how America should not remain neutral. I mentioned the disgust I had when the person leading the class stated that the reason Muslims hate us is because of our sanctions. He stated that only a few Muslims are "extremists." Basically, it was a "blame America's policies for why the Muslim world hates us" rant. Myself and at least one other person were in shock by what he said. I had decided after that disgrace that I would never attend another one of his "classes." Then yesterday's Ft. Hood slaughter happened. The animal screamed, "God is great," as he gunned down our soldiers.

An imam from a mosque Hasan regularly attended said Hasan, a lifelong Muslim, was a committed soldier, gave no sign of extremist beliefs and regularly wore his uniform at prayers.

For once, I believe them!

Anyone who has the guts to do some actual research will quickly find out that Islam is NOT a religion of peace. Indeed, it isn't much of a religion at all, but a system for world domination. Even a study of their "prophet's" life will show how he conquered by the sword, slaughtered innocents, raped a 9 year old girl... I can go on and on. If you really want to know what is happening, I have links to two sites on this blog. One of them is The Religion of Peace. The other is Jihad Watch. Just a reminder, who did the "Palestinians" vote into office? Hamas. If you have the guts to stop being politically correct, if you really want to know what is happening, view those websites. If not, then don't comment on something you know nothing about.

B.O. showed his usual disdain for America in a speech last night where he decided to give a "shout out" before addressing the disaster that happened yesterday. Truly, he is an evil man and MUST be removed from power - him and ALL of the cronies who support him. This includes that traitorous wench Pelosi who isn't even following her own promises about posting the bill 72 hours in advance of a vote - which will happen tomorrow for "health care."

I am tired of people who don't have the guts to stand up for what is right and true, even it if is "unpopular." Go crawl back into your caves, for all I care. You do not lead us.

To those who were personally affected by yesterday's tragic events, you have my heart felt condolences. I am truly sorry that this happened. I'm sorry that a man who played an advisory role concerning homeland security in B.O.'s transition to the White House followed his true faith.
