My Views on Foreign Policy – a Deeper Examination

A couple articles back, I wrote about a local Town Hall event where those who attended met Chick Heilson. In it I mentioned my opinions of the event, and why I would not support him. First off, let me be clear that I consider him a far better person for office then what we currently have serving. However, there are some positions that he has taken which I simply cannot support. One of them is his position on foreign policy. Concerning it, I said:

As well, his stance of being friendly with all nations but in alliance with none is, in my strong opinion, dangerously isolationist and unwise. That position may have served America well before the 20th century, but in today’s world of faster then sound travel, mass communication and weapons of mass destruction, American cannot afford to “go it alone.” As well, America must actively support the few remaining free nations in the world. To not do so will ultimately bring destruction upon the world and America herself.

This afternoon, I attended a local gathering of Patriots for a class on the Constitution. It occurs every Thursday from noon to 1pm. Today’s lesson centered on foreign policy. While our founding fathers were quoted (such as George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and others), no strict Constitutional law was. It was more of a meeting based on a particular version of conservative opinion. In this one instance, I am going to have to disagree with what was presented. The following will be my reasoning as to why.

George Washington’s farewell address covered a few different issues. The first, and primary, would be his explanation for refusing a third term to office. Another issue concerns the conditions of the Union and his encouragement to the members of such. Yet another concerned Patriotism and conduct towards other nations. It is regarding his comments on what we now call “foreign policy” that I wish to pay particular attention.

Many people such as Ron Paul point out a comment Washington made concerning how the United States should keep a neutral position towards other nations. Washington exhorted us to not favor any particular one, but to:

Observe good faith and justice towards all nations; cultivate peace and harmony with all.

He also stated:

In the execution of such a plan, nothing is more essential than that permanent, inveterate antipathies against particular nations, and passionate attachments for others, should be excluded; and that, in place of them, just and amicable feelings towards all should be cultivated.

Washington’s reasoning is sound and wise. Yet one thing is never mentioned concerning his farewell address. People are quick to bring up his exhortation to stay neutral, but fail to mention his other exhortation. He stated:

`Tis our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliances with any portion of the foreign world; so far, I mean, as we are now at liberty to do it; - emphasis mine

George Washington knew that there would come a time where it would be impractical to remain completely neutral. There would be times when America would have to remove herself from her “isolationist shell” and form alliances. Yet even with that he warned:

Taking care always to keep ourselves, by suitable establishments, on a respectable defensive posture, we may safely trust to temporary alliances for extraordinary emergencies.

As well:

The duty of holding a neutral conduct may be inferred, without any thing more, from the obligation which justice and humanity impose on every nation, in cases in which it is free to act, to maintain inviolate the relations of peace and amity towards other nations.

During his time, weapons of mass destruction were unknown. Travel was done either via foot, horseback or ship. Mountain ranges and oceans were true boundaries that were difficult to overcome. In a very real sense, the world was closed off. The United States itself found it’s eastern and southern boundaries protected by the Atlantic Ocean. To the west and north were vast landmasses - not heavily populated. Neutrality was an excellent stance, and one that America should attempt to adhere to, as much as possible, in this day and age.

Yet the dawn of the 20th century brought about an industrial revolution. Suddenly, ships that were powered by the wind (and sometimes coal) now were able to access diesel fuel. As such, the capabilities of ocean going traffic increased immensely. Motorized vehicles soon found themselves dominating horse and train travel. Then, the aircraft was invented.

Almost 100 years later, America’s involvement in the first World War is still a topic of debate. It revolves around whether or not America should have joined with the allies. Some propose the case that our involvement only increased the duration of the war and it’s casualties. Others proclaim that it was a necessary “evil.” Regardless of current opinions, the facts are that America did indeed join in this war.

After the war, the United States found itself entering the Great Depression. This was a very trying time for the country, and it’s resilience was tested in a way never before experienced. Yet her strong citizens persevered. America, however, did remain active in the world arena of politics.

Yet world politics were changing. Fascism was raising it’s ugly head in Europe, and Communism was finding a foothold in Russia. Japan was experiencing it’s own industrial revolution and was fast becoming a power to be acknowledged.

Technology was advancing in leaps in bounds. Aircraft were becoming faster and more powerful. Battleships soon became national symbols of pride, and Germany advanced submarine technology. Suddenly, the world was much smaller – and more dangerous.

Germany, still hurting from it’s loss in the first World War, was looking for a way to regain it’s national pride. It wanted to expand it’s territory, and at the same time, remove “undesirables.” In 1939, it launched a blitzkrieg offensive, effectively starting World War 2.

During this time, Japan was seeking to increase it’s military and industrial power. Yet, as it is an island nation, lacked the natural resources for this to happen. So Japan began to look elsewhere and laid it’s eyes upon China. It too launched a military campaign of conquest, and committed many horrible atrocities against the Chinese.

During this time, Great Britain went to the defense of it’s ally, France, as the German war machine continued it’s unstoppable advance. In a secret pact, America agreed to supply England in it’s war effort. While doing this, it also imposed sanctions on Japan. America would not support it’s brutal war on China.

In response, Japan launched a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor in December of 1941. This action brought the United States fully into the war. During which, many nations were freed from the grips of dictators.

During World WW II, technology advanced in leaps and bounds. Jet aircraft were finding their wings in the sky, and the power of the atom was realized. America emerged as a world super power with a robust economy and large military force. Some say that the war actually helped rescue America from the Great Depression.

As well, the return of Israel as a nation became a reality. While during the purges of Hitler and Stalin many people of differing backgrounds were slaughtered, it was the Jews who bore the brunt. The vow of “never again” became the rally cry of Jews throughout the world. After thousands of years, the nation of Israel was reborn with the United States being the first country to recognize it’s right to exist.

Most people are aware of the history since then, so I do not feel it necessary to delve into it. Suffice it to say, technology advances have continued to increase in leaps and bounds. Space is no longer an unattainable goal, while the power of the atom was fully realized. The sound barrier was broken, and with the advent of electronics and the information age, it is now a common occurrence to communicate with others from the far side of the world.

Yet with all of this has come increased dangers. We no longer live in an isolated society. Weapons of Mass Destruction are, unfortunately, a reality. Israel is the only true democracy in the Middle East and is constantly under attack. Islamic fascism has reared it’s ugly head and seems hell bent on world domination. With all of this going on, it is fool hardy for the few remaining free nations to “go it alone.” This, I feel, is what Washington was referring to when he commented on America staying neutral for as long as she was at liberty to do so. America is no longer at such a liberty.

Though in truth, we should cut ties with the United Nations and NATO. We should not have our soldiers in over a hundred different countries acting as a police force. We should not be surrendering our national sovereignty in any form, be it militarily or economically. Yet to leave countries such as Israel to fend for themselves is criminal.

As well, it is very unwise to think that we can be friends with all nations. A common saying in personal relationships is that you can never make everyone happy all the time. This also includes international relations. The Islamic threat is very real, as well as threats from rogue nations such as North Korea. China is as a dragon that has woken up, and Communism is still a very strong threat. We must not think that through dialogue or the giving of “gifts” that we can obtain their favor. Indeed no. As the world is no longer isolated, free nations must band together for survival. To do so otherwise will ultimately lead to the demise of America and freedom herself.

It is Good to be The King

The United States is bogged down in a war in Afghanistan where it’s military leaders are yelling for more troops. The Dollar has plunged in value due to the result of numerous failed “bailouts,” massive printing of new money, and the exodus of businesses nation wide. Citizens are up in arms over closed door meetings where socialists are trying to force government health care upon them. Cap and trade raises it’s ugly head. Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck as well as innumerable others are being outright attacked by the White House and it’s cronies. Indeed, America is struggling to hold on to its identity during one of the greatest attacks ever upon its very existence.

Yet the Obamas are enjoying the highlife.

From the AP:

As it happens, music of all sorts — rock, jazz, country, classical — has been busting out of the White House all year long.

Presidents have long used the White House as a platform to showcase the best of music and the arts: Chester Arthur staged the first formal East Room concert in the late 1800s.

But the Obamas are demonstrating a commitment to use the White House to promote the arts in a huge way. And they're not just tapping safe, living legends: Fresh faces like bachata band Aventura and Mexican pop sensation Thalia (who lured Obama on to the dance floor briefly) shared a stage with gray eminence Jose Feliciano at last week's Fiesta Latina.

The Obamas' musical push started on Day One, when the Wynton Marsalis Quintet played for a private inaugural celebration party of 100 at the White House.

A month later, the White House brought in Earth, Wind and Fire to entertain visiting governors. And days later, the Obamas hosted an East Room tribute to Stevie Wonder that featured Tony Bennett, Martina McBride and Wonder himself. The president called it "the most accomplished Stevie Wonder cover band in history."

Since then, the lineup has zigzagged all over the musical spectrum.

In addition, the Obama’s (joined by Oprah Winfrey) took separate jets to Copenhagen in a failed bid to bring the Olympics to Chicago.

Michelle Obama has taken numerous shopping trips from downtown D.C. for fresh produce, a spending spree in Paris as well as London, to efforts in redecorating the White House with purchases from the Pottery Barn (and others). All of this is hard work for the First Lady. Thankfully, she has a personal staff off 22 assistants. While in the throws of all of this spending, Mrs. B.O. laments the status of the poor. Indeed.

There are other nations whom come to mind when I ponder their rulers spending money like there is no tomorrow while their citizens suffer. Ghana, Nigeria, Mauritania, Gambia, Iraq under Saddam Hussein with his opulent palaces and other toys, as well as Somalia are just some of the nations.

An article written by M.A. Jama on Somalilandglobe.com describes how African dictators have risen to power. The following paragraph practically yelled at me for attention:

African Dictators, when they are hurting, believe they are healing, when they are destroying they believe they are building. The road to dictatorships starts with nationalistic slogans and the creation of common enemy to rally against, real or hoax. Rivals are branded as traitors and agents of the enemy of the state or the revolution. Opponents are constantly harassed and intimidated. Legislative and judiciary branches of the state, if they exist at all, are rendered powerless or rubber stamps. Elections are first postponed then either cancelled due to non-existent security reason or the opposition parties are declared illegal and banned. State of emergency and curfews are the norm. The enemy number one is the independent media, opposition parties’ leaders/individuals and those who tell the truth. They arrest them and prosecute them publicly. When they succeed in that first test, the next stage is banning political parties and independent social groups altogether, nationalize all private enterprises and rule by decree. Once fear and terror are subjected to the intelligentsia, the masses voluntarily surrender and start singing the praise of the dictator. Next is the establishment of a fast network of secret prison system where those who are lucky enough to not be send to the gallows are condemned for life. In the final stage of achieving absolute Dictatorship a new cadre of leaders are handpicked not because of their ability and skills but because of their loyalty to the dictator and they start showering the dictator with praise, and they order the masses to hang his pictures everywhere. New songs are composed in praise of the leader. Those who surround around him compete for his attention like children and they always tell him what they think he likes to hear but not the reality in the country. They start spying among each other to win the confidence of the leader. They hold trumped-up presidential election where the leader is elected for life. He is declared the all knowing, the wisest, and the father of the nation. Now he does not let others make any decisions because he feels he is the most qualified, experienced and the wisest. He does not recognize the knowledge of others and ignores their contribution. This is the last stage and the mental state of the dictator is not stable, he is lonely, he mistrusts those who surround him and paranoia and psychosis set in. – Emphasis Mine

I ask you, does any of this seem familiar to you? Does anyone come to mind in today’s America who seems to fit the bill? Is there someone that children sing songs about? Is there someone who has placed innumerable people in positions of power (unelected and unconfirmed) that support him whole-heartedly? Is there someone who tried to create a national slogan while harassing opponents? Is there a person here in America who is attacking independent media as well as talk show hosts and independent bloggers? Has someone in the United States asked citizens to spy upon one another? Does this same person have any connections to Africa?

There was a comedy made years ago by a famous comedian and director. One of the scenes in it depicts a French King living an opulent life style, chasing after women, and indulging in other decadent activities. While this was happening, the citizens of France were suffering from starvation and injustice. The comedian/director is Mel Brooks. The movie is “History of the World: Part 1.” The quote to remember is – “It’s good to be the king!” Indeed.

Town Hall With Chick Heileson

It’s been well over a week since there was an event labeled as a “Town Hall Tea Party” in Pocatello, ID (October 13, 2009). In reality, it was a chance for Chick Heileson to plead his case before the forty or so voters who showed up. A Vietnam veteran, he is running for congress in Idaho’s 2nd district against Mike Simpson. I must confess that I was expecting an actual Tea Party with local representatives instead of a campaign meeting. I have a feeling that others who attended believed the same was as well. Yet be that as it may, I took along a notepad and pen, and jotted down my impressions of the event.

The reason I waited to write this article was that after the event was over, I approached his campaign manager, Ron Baker, and informed him that I wished to interview Mr. Heileson. I left my phone number as well as email address, and was assured that they would get back to me. Since I have not heard back from them, I must write this article based upon my impressions of that night.

Shortly after 7pm, Ron introduced Chick. Mr. Heileson began by lecturing those in attendance on the founding of the United States, its Constitution, and differing governing systems such as Socialism, Communism, Democracy, and Republicanism (what he called, “Americanism”), etc. He spent thirty minutes or so on the lesson and then opened up the floor to questions. Before doing so, he stated that if elected, he would enforce the Constitution in totality, and would not even read a bill that he considers unconstitutional. He proclaimed that he is a supporter of States’ Rights and limited government.

A member of the audience inquired if he would support limited terms, and after much he-hawing, he said no. Another asked him concerning the life time pensions and health care that all members of government receive, even when no longer in office. He was asked what his opinion was concerning this, and if he would refuse such a thing for himself. Mr. Heileson’s answer was, “I don’t know anything about it, so I can’t answer you.”

When asked how he would combat those currently in Congress who vote against the Constitution, Mr. Heileson stated that he would attempt to approach each member individually and invite them to a Constitution class. It is his hope that through communication and education that he can make a difference.

Mr. Heileson also states that he does not feel that power corrupts. He states that those in office who bend on principal had that character defect before elected. He proclaims that he will never compromise on his. When asked how he could guarantee us that he would not, after much rhetoric, his ultimate answer was that he could not prove it to us. We, the voter, would simply have to take him at his word.

I had the opportunity to ask him about his stance concerning support for Israel. He immediately asked me if I was a reporter, and advised him that I was not. I did inform him that I am a blogger. It seemed that his defenses came up. His answer was: “friendly with all nations, in alliance with none.”

When asked how he would enforce States’ rights, he said that he would do so through his votes and that he would compare pending bills to the Constitution to see if they were authorized by it.

Concerning Social Security, he states that it is unconstitutional. Although he states that no opinion is set in stone, he feels that a good way to end Social Security is to put a halt to new “investors” into it. Let it apply to those who already paid in, but not allow any new members. With Social Security’s funding in the dismal condition as it exists today, he did not state where the government would get additional funding to pay off those who were already invested.

Concerning “Global Warming,” Mr. Heilesonstates that he is not a believer in it. As well, he does not support the United Nations.

After these questions, time was soon up. He informed anyone who had further questions that he would stick around and try to answer them.

The following are my impressions of the event:

Mr. Heileson is an extremely charismatic individual. As such, he was able to quickly draw in the audience’s attention. Even I was touched by his personality, and found myself caught up in the emotion of the event. Yet, since time has passed, I have been able to reflect back. For me, Mr. Heileson is not a person I can support for any political office in the House or Senate.

First off, I had the impression that he avoided many important questions. When faced with those (such as the pension plan), his answer was simply that he had no knowledge of it, and thus could not comment. How can one who is running for congress not have knowledge or opinion on these issues? I feel that he does, but that he did not wish to share them.

When I asked him simply on a stance for supporting Israel, he became visibly irritated. I feel that the main reason America has been blessed in the 20’th century is because of her support for Israel. As well, as the only true democracy in the Middle East, Israel is a literal shield to the rest of the world. She is surrounded on all sides by nations that want to see her destroyed, and is constantly under attack. Ever year, numerous resolutions are passed by the United Nations which condemn her, yet support her attackers. For America to stand back and not support her is more then just a sin, it is reckless.

His stance on communication and attempts to “teach” members in congress about the Constitution is, I feel, very flawed. Persons in those positions of power are soon corrupted by it. They receive numerous hand outs by organizations and corporations who wish policy to go in their favor. As well, there is extreme peer pressure from fellow congressmen as well from the President to vote in certain ways. A simple discussion with people who have already shown that they can be bought or made to compromise will not be effective.

I also cannot bring myself to trust a man whose campaign manager promised to get back to me, yet did not do so. It is a minor issue, not built on pride. Yet it does show to me that Mr. Heileson is already willing to go back on a given word. He may state that he did not make that promise, yet his campaign manager did.

Also, a concern for me is someone who refuses to read any bill he considers unconstitutional. Even if one disagrees with such bill, one should keep themselves informed. Then they can use such knowledge to reach out to their colleagues in congress as well as the American public. Tell us why it isn’t constitutional, what you oppose in such a bill, and what you feel should be done instead. It is my opinion that those who remain blissfully uniformed will never make the strong difference that America truly needs.

Here is a list of questions that I was going to ask him. I feel they are issues that any concerned voter would appreciate knowing his stance on. They are as follows:
  • What is your stance on border security and illegal immigration?
  • The Dollar is quickly becoming obsolete, and the majority of world’s reserve currency no longer uses it. What do you intend to do to resolve this?
  • What is your stance concerning religion in schools? Humanism, Atheism, Evolution and Islam are all religions which are routinely preached to students, yet Christianity is not allowed. What should be done?
  • What is your stance on the United States becoming energy independent? Do you support drilling in ANWAR as well as the Gulf of Mexico?
  • What is your stance on the controversy surrounding Obama’s eligibility to be president? Is the short form of his Hawaiian birth certificate (which has been given to children born outside of the United States) acceptable to you or not? If shown that he is not eligible, will you push for impeachment? Why or why not?
  • What is your position on the second amendment, as well as the claims that the Constitution is a “living document?”
  • How will you deal with lobbyists?
  • Will you fight pork in proposed bills?
  • What is your stance on State Militias? In both the Revolutionary War as well as the Civil War, the States sent their militias – their armies to fight. Yet now all military is run by the federal government. Is this constitutional in your opinion?
  • What is your stance on abortion? What will you do to enforce that stance?

Mr. Heileson, if you read this article and desire to reply, please know that I would welcome an open discussion with you. I do want those questions answered, and I am also open to discussion concerning any other point I have made here. If there have been any misunderstandings on my part, please let me know.

White House Admits Media Control

For those progressives out there who deny that there is any bias in the news media, or that the White House controls it, here’s a news flash for you straight from Obama Czar Anita Dunn:

"Very rarely did we communicate through the press anything that we didn't absolutely control," said Dunn (Hat Tip to WND)

She is of course discussing B.O.’s presidential campaign. Yet we know that it has gone much further than this. Every single one of the alphabet stations as well as CNN, MSNBC and NPR actively promotes B.O.’s communistic agenda. Indeed, on June 24th of 2009, ABC’s Charlie Gibson made a World News broadcast from inside the White House. No other president in the history of the United States ever exercised such complete control over the nation’s media!

There is, however, one news station that will not bend to B.O’s will. That station is Fox News. Of course progressives hate Fox simply because it will not tow the party line. They accuse Fox of being biased when in actuality they truly are the only media outlet that takes a neutral stance. They were hard on President Bush when he started going the wrong direction, and they’re being hard on B.O. Of course, the communist clones that graduate from the government institutions known as “public schools” as well as Universities throughout the country don’t recognize this. They are force fed propaganda to the point where they see truth as evil.

What is the White House’s response to this lone and “rebellious” media outlet? They are attacking it! Once more, never in the history of the United States has a sitting president ever done such a thing!

Last week, White House communications director Anita Dunn said Fox News operates "almost as either the research arm or the communications arm of the Republican Party." On Sunday, Rahm Emanuel, President Barack Obama's chief of staff, said, "It is not a news organization so much as it has a perspective."

News flash to all you Democrats, liberals, progressives, socialists and communists – what is happening has nothing to do with the Republican Party! Conservatives are just as upset with them as they are with the Dems! This has gone way beyond the two party “war” that has raged for hundreds of years! Yet B.O.’s party of hate is doing the only thing they can do – blame the unrest the President has caused onto the Republican party. Why? Because he knows that his unlearned and idiot followers in the Democrat party don’t know any better. They were taught to hate Republicans, and they have a gut reaction every time they are referenced.

Yet not all libs are blinded. Helen Thomas herself has warned the White House that their efforts to squelch the one true lasting independent media outlet can only result in trouble.

"They can only take you down. You can't kill the messenger," said Thomas, who has covered every president from John F. Kennedy to Barack Obama.

Who are they messengers of? The conservative American public!

To those of you who have blindly followed B.O., I ask that you now open your eyes to the truth of what has been going on. Become informed! Learn the truth! All true Americans value liberty and individual freedom, yet only those who are armed with the facts can combat the enslavement of America that Obama is actively engaged in!

This is what we need!

My last entry, which caused an exodus of subscribers from my blog, was very blunt. In it, I chastised Americans for not doing more for their freedoms. I also chastised military personal for allowing dictatorship to take over. I won't back down from these charges. In fact, I'll go further.

Why are we in the position we're in today? Because Americans as a whole are lazy. Since the 60's, we gave up our parental rights when we allowed the communists in public schools to raise our kids. Now that's come home to bite us. Those kids and their descendants are now the ones in power. That is why B.O. doesn't have to worry about protests. Every year, thousands of communist clones in schools are suddenly eligible to vote. They can't think for themselves, and are too concerned with immediate gratification then with long term consequences. Parents, you have yourselves to blame.

Yet it is not too late! If parents can stop worrying about paying for all these big toys such as boats, expensive cars, mansions and the like, they can start putting their focus back on their children. A good way to start is by home schooling. Give them a better education they could ever hope to get in a public institution, and in addition, instill your values in them! If you are in a situation where it is simply impossible (no matter what sacrifice you're willing to make), then join your school board. Speak up and don't let these communists ruin yet another generation of children! For those of you who have grown children, it is still not too late to talk to them and show them the meaning of patriotism. Explain to them hard work, dedication, family values and let them know that having sex outside of a committed relationship will only lead to destruction!

As far as the military goes, well there are those who will stand up for freedom. They are known as the Oath Keepers. Their mission statement follows:

Oath Keepers is a non-partisan association of currently serving military, reserves, National Guard, veterans, Peace Officers, and Fire Fighters who will fulfill the Oath we swore, with the support of like minded citizens who take an Oath to stand with us, to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, so help us God. Our Oath is to the Constitution.

Recently, as reported on reviewjournal.com and referenced by Drudge,

"The whole point of Oath Keepers is to stop a dictatorship from ever happening here," Rhodes, a former Army paratrooper and Yale-trained lawyer, said in an interview with the Review-Journal. "My focus is on the guys with the guns, because they can't do it without them.

"We say if the American people decide it's time for a revolution, we'll fight with you."

Orders their members will not obey - orders that they encourage all military, police and firemen to disobey are as follows:

1. We will NOT obey orders to disarm the American people.

2. We will NOT obey orders to conduct warrantless searches of the American people

3. We will NOT obey orders to detain American citizens as “unlawful enemy combatants” or to subject them to military tribunal.

4. We will NOT obey orders to impose martial law or a “state of emergency” on a state.

5. We will NOT obey orders to invade and subjugate any state that asserts its sovereignty.

6. We will NOT obey any order to blockade American cities, thus turning them into giant concentration camps.

7. We will NOT obey any order to force American citizens into any form of detention camps under any pretext.

8. We will NOT obey orders to assist or support the use of any foreign troops on U.S. soil against the American people to “keep the peace” or to “maintain control."

9. We will NOT obey any orders to confiscate the property of the American people, including food and other essential supplies.

10.We will NOT obey any orders which infringe on the right of the people to free speech, to peaceably assemble, and to petition their government for a redress of grievances.

America, we need parents to actually begin to care about their children. We need military, police and firemen to stand up for what is right. We need civilians who are willing to sacrifice all for Freedom's Cause. Are you up to the task?

A Call to Battle

KATU.com in Oregon has reported that an apartment manager has told her residents to take down their American flags or they could face eviction. Apparently this clueless hussie did this so that other residents in their "diversified" community wouldn't be offended. Offended? Offended?! I'm offended!

Listen here you dumb broad, this is AMERICA! If anyone is offended by our national flag, then they should just leave our COUNTRY! And this goes to the rest of the people who are trying to re-write the Constitution and talk about how ashamed they are of America (ring a bell folks?)!

This has simply gone too far! We need to get Constitutional representatives in both the House and the Senate in 2010. Then, we need to hold every current member of Congress, as well as the Judicial and Executive branches accountable for their actions. If they have actively attempted to subdue this nation, if they took office while being ineligible (Obama?), if they overstepped Constitutional bounds and made laws they had no business doing so, or if they stood back while such was happening, they NEED to be tried for treason! Once found guilty, they MUST be punished to the fullest extent allowed via law!

And you military leaders, what are you doing? You took an oath to defend America against all enemies, both foreign AND domestic! Yet you are sitting back and allowing this to happen! Any military leader who took a passive stance while allowing this to happen should also be tried for treason and dereliction of duty!

This is it folks. Do you have the guts to really fight, or are you going to stand back in dark corners, shivering like scared children and hoping that someone else will step into the gap - a place that you are so afraid of standing? Or will you actually fight while there are still some vestiges of this nation left?

Are there any real men and women left in this country? Protests are one thing, but it's obvious that the people in the federal government don't care how much one protests. We need to take action, and now!

The Troubled Patriot Update

As some of you have noticed, the postings to this blog have been somewhat sparse during the recent month. The main reason has been a need for a break from the filth and corruption that has infested American society. For a stretch of close to three months, I daily delved myself into soul rending research concerning the socialist/communistic bent of our "political elites." This, combined with a complete lack of understanding that the liberal left has for what liberty truly is, and how their "flock" blindly follows them into destruction has been quite a dampener to my spirits. Truly, daily immersion into filth leaves one's soul wanting for something decent to report. This short vacation is almost over. I will soon return to my commentary on this country, in the hopes that some misguided lamb will "see the light," and turn their misguided love for Polar Bears, floating ice cubes, the Messiah(TM), and pot into something actually worth giving a damn for.

I am seeking a few things for this blog. They are:

  • Other conservative (I care not for party affiliation) authors/bloggers to contribute to The Troubled Patriot
  • Someone who is graphically inclined and would be willing to help design a logo for this site
  • Help in spreading the word of this blog's existence

Are you kidding me?!

Obama just won the Nobel Peace Prize for "offering the world hope and striving for nuclear disarmament." Drudge is reporting that Obama is going to accept it.

You have to be freaking kidding me! This man, this divider, has not done anything for peace! Well, maybe the fact that he's destroying America's influence, the value of the dollar, turning his back on America's allies, bowing to Saudi princes and wanting to cut up Israel is what the "world" considers peace.

America is coming apart at the seams with the left and right clashing in political battles (none he wishes to stop). BHO is a sad, sad joke! So is the The Norwegian Nobel Committee. Heck, this impostor who is probably not even eligible for the presidency hasn't even been in office for one full year!

I am disgusted.

Words of Wisdom

Yesterday I had the honor of conversing with a man of great wisdom.

We were discussing politics during which he made a comment concerning the main difference between conservatives and liberals. He said:

“Liberals do not believe in God. Instead of looking towards Him for their security, they look towards the government to provide it, willing to give up their freedoms in the process. Those who do believe in God are almost always conservatives, knowing that man is filled with sin.”

While there are exceptions to this on both sides (some liberals do believe in God, while some conservatives do not), for the majority, this is an apt description.

The left’s rabid hatred of the right is quite evident in daily life. One needs only to view the liberal media of ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, and MSNBC to witness this. Upon browsing the internet and reading the news, one witnesses comments made by those who hold the liberal mindset to be filled with unreasoning hatred. Indeed, even on my blog such hate filled comments are made.

In addition, attacks on Christianity are mounting. Ignoring the devastation caused by humanistic faiths such as Socialism, Communism, and Humanism, hate filled attacks are consistently practiced. The Bible and Christianity have been ripped from public life. The Christian values of life itself have been replaced with atheistic views whereby abortion is acceptable and children are taught that they have no meaning - that they are alive only by chance. They are told that there are no moral absolutes, and that when they die, it is all over. They will enter into oblivion.

Last night while I was reading the first letter to the churches written by the Apostle John, this wise man’s comments came to mind once more.

1 John 3:1 states:

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

1 John 4:5-6 adds:

They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

The Apostle John put to light exactly what is happening in this day and age. The world doesn’t know God. They are unable to recognize the Truth.

If you examine Europe, Russia and the liberal “sanctuaries” within our very nation, the reality is self evident. They have turned their backs completely to God. What is the result? Loss of precious freedoms as they look toward mankind to solve their problems. They believe in the fable of the “goodness” of man. As referenced in 1 John 2:16, their focus is on what pleasures the flesh can give them. They have given themselves over to lust and pride. Thus homosexuality, rampant free sex, drug use, abortion and innumerable other actions such as these do reign. If anyone dares contradict them, to prevent them from perusing these selfish desires, they spew forth hate in a venomous stream.

Yet this was not so with the Founding Fathers of this country. They were well aware of man’s sinful nature. They knew without a doubt that this “Great Experiment” would not be successful if God was taken out of politics. Yet, this is what sinful man has indeed done.

The war of political viewpoints that this nation finds itself in is actuality a spiritual war. It is a war between satanic lies and the Truth of God. Thus, it is no wonder that the left hates the right. We hold to the truth of man’s state. We will not place our security in the hands of sinful man, and that very stance is what causes the left to hate us so.

1 John 3:13 states it clearly:

Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

I am very thankful for my parents seeding within me a love for God and country. They taught me when I was young the Word of God. They continue to do so today. The wise man I mentioned in the beginning is my father. The words he mentioned were true, and though in humbleness he would disagree, his wisdom is indeed inspiring.
