Good bye USA, Hello SSA!

Yup.. Good bye USA, hello Socialist States of America!

I'd rant and rave about uneducated voters listening to the obviously bias news media, soccer moms who don't have a single brain cell, and liberal professors (99.9% of the university population) who brainwashed young minds, but... why beat a dead horse? Instead, I'll point out what we have to look forward to now that we have the most social and liberal president EVER in office, and with a VP who is extremely evil... oh yeah, not to mention Democratic control of both the House and the Senate...

1. - Socialised Medicine: Yup! Everyone who can't afford insurance will now get it thanks to "Big Daddy." Hmm, sounds good on the surface, but hows the government going to do this? Lay down extra taxes (Obama Momma already said he's going to raise taxes) or force insurance companies to take care of us? Either way, prices on medical related stuff is going to INCREASE, and you thought the wait time now to get an appointment was long? Guess what? You going to miss the good old days when it took only a week or two to see your doc. Oh yeah, lets see... our medical knowledge... hmmm.. why have people from Canada, Great Britian, Europe in general and South America (probably every other country as well) been comming to the (former) USA for medical treatment? Because with their socialised medical programs, the treatments are not NEARLY effective, not to mention the time to wait. There are TONS of horror stories about people DIEING because they had to wait 8-10 months just to see their doctor. Oh well, but you voted for it America.

2. - Patty Cake with the criminals of the world: Yup! Obama promised to have nice friendly talks with the psychos out there who have vowed to destroy us. Yeah, the nutt Iran, Hugo Chavez in S. America, and the list will go on and on. Look forward too having talks with Hamas and all the other child killing murderer organizations out there. Also, look for us to completely remove support from Israel.. leaving them to the dogs out there. Yeah, talking to someone who wants to kill you .. that's going to help. Oh, but they just hated Bush and our support for Israel and our "war for oil?" Well, soon you'll wake up to the truth when there will be another attack on our soil and we loose all support for our military.

3. - Redistribute Wealth: Yup.. remember "Joe the Plumber?" Probably not, or you probably don't care. Either you're flat broke and you CAN'T WAIT you get some money you DIDN'T earn, or you're so full of guilt about being sucessful and "rich" that you just CAN'T WAIT to give your money away! Oh yeah, watch for the SSA to start giving money and "spread the wealth" to all the 3rd world countries out there. Good bye prosperity for America!

4. - Good bye Free Speech: Well, unless your NOT a conservative or Christian. Yup. Like Canada, we'll no longer be able to say that Homosexuality is wrong, that it's wrong for people of the same sex to raise children in that unhealthy environment, that Christ is NOT the way and anyone who expresses a belief in absolute truth will be "shut up". Also, we'll now have the insane program back where when any media presents one view on an issue, they'll HAVE to give FREE equal time to the opposing view. Yup, FREE time folks, unpaid for air-time for some nuttball to ramble on and on about why s/he disagrees. That means that advertisers either will pull back or most media will fallunder. This is an OBVIOUS attack on conservative media, as it's a proven fact that liberal media (other then the useless alphabet tv networks) cannot succeed. But either way, our freedom of speech is going to go the way of the do-do.

5. - Good bye Right To Bear Arms: Yup... soon if you own a firearm, you'll be branded a criminal (well you already are, so this isn't much of a change). We'll go the way ot GB and only be allowed to have CERTAIN types of firearms. Criminals of the world, REJOICE!!!!!

6. - Energy: Yup, the deomcrats are going to do their best to "wein" us off of oil. Instead they're going to push other resources such as ethenol (remember the food scare when prices started going up??). Yup, so food will cost more because instead of feeding our country, we'll be turning it into gas. Oh yeat, watch for the HUGE push for "alternate energy".. meaning uneconomical "sources" will be forced down our throats. Also, I remember a while back in CA where the government ther came VERY CLOSE to telling a person WHEN and for HOW LONG they could have their AC on. Watch for the government to start rationing our energy and telling us when we can use it.

7. - Good bye effective military: Yup, the liberals are clear about how much they hate our military. Watch for immediate downsizing. With the military goes our first line of defence - deterence. Watch us NOT research new technologies and train sufficient numbers of troops to defend us. YAY! Rogue Nations of the world rejoice!

8. - Illegial Immigration: Illegial immigrants, REJOICE! Your votes were heard! Now you can continue to completely violate the SSA's national integrity, bring over crime and diseases, and send all of that money back to your worthless third world countries! Yay for all terrorists groups around the world! Now you'll have an even EASIER time getting into the country!!!!!!!

I could go on and on and on.. but you get the picture. If you don't, you're already too dense and anything I say won't make a difference anyway.

I'd say I'm heading to Canada, but that country is as socialist as this one, the SSA is going to be.

A few good reasons to continue the war in the Middle East

I’m sure that Bush will be blamed for this somewhere as well.

The Right to Bear Arms

With all the tragedy that has occurred recently, some people are cracking down on gun ownership, and strongly believe that our cherished rights to keep and bear arms should no longer be a “right”, “but instead a privilege”. While I do respect and understand why they feel so, I must strongly disagree. My reasoning is listed below.

First, anyone who is willing to storm a public place, or even a private home with the intent to commit murder, and are so committed to these actions, that they plan, and often do, take their own lives afterwards, will the removal of gun rights prevent them from acquiring such weapons (or any other weapon for that matter) to commit these crimes? Ask those who are active in law enforcement. It is not rare for them to come across criminals who own unregistered guns, and in fact a majority of those guns are stolen. Placing a ban on gun ownership, placing stricter regulations, or changing our “rights” to a “privilege” will not hinder these criminals. Instead, these will hinder the honest, law abiding citizen who should have access to them to protect their families and loved ones.

Second, guns do not kill. People kill. If every gun was somehow miraculously whisked out of existence, criminals intent on bodily harm would find other weapons to use. Knives and swords are still deadly. Blunt weapons are still deadly. Explosives are still deadly. Airliners are still deadly. (Please recall that on 9/11, the hijackers stormed the airliners not with guns, but with chemical irritants and box cutters to subdue those around them. They used the jets themselves as the end weapon)

Third, people claim that though guns may have been necessary in the past, they are no longer. How is this possible? In the scant 100+ years, has mankind changed so drastically? The answer is a resounding “no.” Mankind is still full of selfish desires as well as hatred, anger, and emotional instability. Nothing has changed. Well perhaps something has changed: People no longer believe that they are special, that they were created and have a purpose for life on this earth. Instead, children are immersed at an early age in the religions of Humanism and Evolution. They are told that they evolved from inanimate matter into single cell organisms, from there into the eventual “ape” and then into what we now are. Evolution and Humanism destroy all intents of self worth, and for all intents and purposes, cannot provide any form of morality or ethics. Indeed, the phrase, “Do what seems right to you” permeates their ideology. Is there any wonder that people do not value life today as it once was valued barely one hundred years ago?

In the “Old West”, the towns were rough. Criminals knew that if they abused women, stole, murdered, etc that they would be facing an angry gun toting mob. The citizens used guns to protect themselves, and the crime rates then, compared proportionally to what we have now, were miniscule. Though it may be possible, I cannot recollect any career criminal who escaped justice back then… either from the law or from the angry citizen.

Fourth, please take an honest look at the communities that have either banned or severely restricted gun ownership. The crime rates in such areas are tremendous. Washington DC, the capitol of this country, has a gun ban in place. Yet this area is infested with violent crimes! Take a look a other countries who have similar bans, and see how their crime rates fare. The criminals still have access to guns, yet it is the law abiding citizen who is suffering. It emboldens criminals to commit such crimes, as they know that the average “victim” will be unarmed!

Now please take a look at the communities where gun ownership is encouraged, and view their crime rates! Though violent crime still exists, the frequencies and severity of those crimes are immensely reduced! These are facts, folk. Not something that I just pulled out of the air. Any honest search will turn up the same results.

Fifth, the right to own and bear arms was also included so as to prevent oppressive governments on the civilization of such nation. This was often made reference to and upheld. I am not advocating any sort of action against our government, but the United States of America was founded on the principles of personal liberties, and an armed populous helps lawmakers think twice when they decide to limit personal liberties.

Sixth, what has happened to society where people will run and cower when a gunman or criminal attacks? There are numerous stories of thugs attacking the elderly and others, and the citizens around will simply watch, instead of risking their lives for another. If a gunman attacks, instead of fleeing, fight back! Do you not remember the courageous words during 9/11 of “Lets roll”? Yes, in the end those brave heroes perished, but they saved numerous lives. How many more lives would have been saved if the other passengers acted thusly? (Please note, I am not implying any criticism on any of the 9/11 victims. They all were brave and honorable, and perish in dreadful deaths) .

However today, we see people who are more concerned with their own well being instead of being concerned also with the well being of others. I feel that this is a direct result from the before mentioned religions of Humanism and Evolution. If more people fought back, instead of living as “lambs to the slaughter”, I firmly believe that such crimes would be greatly reduced!

I would not hesitate for a second to protect myself and my loved one, as well as the innocents around me. May I die in such an action? That is quite possible, but I would not be able to live with myself if I had tried nothing.

Imagine a shooter stalks the halls of our campuses. He attacks a classroom. Now imagine that the people in there, instead of becoming cowards, act in bravery and rush him? I will guarantee you that the amount of the “dead” would not be as high, and there is a very good chance that the said gunman would be subdued to face a jury of his peers for his actions! What is bravery? Bravery is that even while frightened, you still advance. Everyone has fears, but few these days have the courage to overcome them.

In closing, I would state that instead of restricting guns or outright banning them, we should encourage citizens to actively own them! No average criminal will attempt the majority of crimes that are done daily if s/he knows that their possible victim could very well be armed! In addition, men, where is your courage? Where is your self resolve? Men are the protectors and defenders of our communities. When will you finally stop being “boys” and cowards, and take hold of your pride and masculinity? Until the men of this country loose their “femininity”, our nation will continue to suffer!

Update on Pat Robertson

In December of 2007, I reported on Pat Robertson stepping down as Chief Executive of CBN, with his son Gordon Robertson replacing him. Pat will still be an active member of the network as he retains the position of Chairman of the Board.

I then went on to claim some “prophecies” he made concerning the year 2007:

Pat Robertson was off and running in the New Year with yet another prophecy of impending doom. Apparently reacting to the Democrat takeover of the Congress, the great prognosticator told his 700 Club audience on Tuesday, January 2nd, that a terrorist attack on this country would cause "mass killing" later in the year. "I'm not necessarily saying it's going to be nuclear," he told he eager listeners.

“The Lord didn't say nuclear. But I do believe it will be something like that.”

He said further that God told him about the impending tragedy during a recent prayer retreat. God also said that major cities and possibly millions of people will be affected by the attack, which should take place sometime after September. -

Here’s another one of his prophecies:

“The world will never receive me (God in Christ), but hundreds of millions will. 2007 will be the final year for my great revelation of my love and forgiveness. Expect miracles beyond anything that you dreamed possible. Demons will be cast out. There will be miracles of healing greater than the world has ever known. Vast multitudes will find salvation. It will be so glorious that you will feel that heaven has come down to earth.

In an attempt to be gracious and give him a little “buffer”, I decided to wait until mid month before I wrote this article. However, that graciousness hasn’t helped his “prophecies” at all.

I’ve been searching all over the internet, as well as various news publications (including the dubious tabloids) to see if there was a major terrorist attack on one of America’s cities. Unfortunately (or fortunately), I can’t seem to come across any mention of one happening. Could someone please enlighten me on this? Perhaps it happened recently in Indy when the Colts lost to the Chargers? Oh wait, that was in 2008, not 2007! Perhaps he is referring to the “winning” season of the Miami Dolphins? Either way I look at it, I simply cannot find any evidence of a major attack (“not necessarily nuclear”) that killed “possibly millions of people” anywhere in the United States (or the world for that matter).

As for miracles beyond anything that we have dreamed possible (hmmm, I guess the miracle of Christ rising from the dead and the miracle of salvation through Him isn’t that great anymore?), and miracles of healing greater then the world has ever known, I don’t see many evidence of that either. As a matter of fact, there have been some pretty scary reports recently of new and deadly viruses.

There were vast multitudes finding salvation? Personally, I think that would be great, but what we have really seen are mass multitudes turning further away from the Lord. No, there has not been anything close to a great revival.

But thankfully, Pat Robertson has “stood up to bat” once again to give his predictions for 2008!

Sonja Barisic, an Associated Press writer, reported on his new “revelations.”

NORFOLK, Va. - Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson said Wednesday that 2008 will be a year of violence worldwide and a recession in the United States, followed by a major stock-market crash by 2010.

Pat also stated:

"We will see the presence of angels and we will see an intensification of miracles around the world, which I think is going to be a wonderful thing," he said.

What wonderful news! This person who has proven himself to be yet again a false prophet is combining more “doom and gloom” with the added “extra” of more miracles PLUS angels!

I went to his official site, PatRobertson.com, and have yet to see any press releases for 2008. Apparently, he has either learned something from last year and has decided to hide from such obscene comments, or the webmaster is really slow in updating content.

I then went to the CBN.com to take a look at what they are currently “pushing” as of January 16, 2008 and found a few interesting links under the category of Health.

They are:

Lord, Bless My Plate – where the guest writer petitions us to pray specifically before eating, that instead of just giving thanks, we should ask for specific benefits. She uses a story (that I would LOVE to see verified) about a “miracle” of God multiplying food for a football team, so that all would have enough to eat. Sure, Christ did this in His ministry, and I won’t say that miracles don’t happen, but this seems a little “fishy” to me (excuse the pun please).

Many people make detailed requests in their prayers. Likewise, we should think about exactly what we desire food to do for our bodies and then pray specifically about it. I often say something like this: "Dear Lord, thank You for providing this nutritious meal. Please bless the food and allow it to nourish and energize my body. Protect my cells from any harmful impurities that entered the food from the environment or through processing. In Jesus’ name, amen." (emphasis mine)

Asking God to bless our meals is wise from a spiritual standpoint and prudent for our health. He wants the best for us in everything, including our food. Whether you're dining alone or chowing down with a football team, make it a point to pray over your next meal.

Yeah, I guess having faith in God to bless without having to mention specifics, and just relying upon our creator to provide for all our needs just isn’t enough anymore.

There are more obscene articles listed on CBN.com, and not all about health. I would post more, but I don’t want to waste any more space on this blog for such obvious trash.

I could (and probably will in the future) go on slamming Pat Robertson’s fallacies and lies, but in all honesty, he isn’t the “problem” all by himself. You see, it’s his gullible followers that give him the platform to make such ridiculous claims. There is no excuse for this. If they can read one of his books, or one of his articles, they can read the bible. Why don’t they pick it up, read what the bible has to say about false prophets, and take their head out of the sand from whence it has been stuck for years? If they don’t know where to start, they can read my previous entry regarding this travesty of a Christian. I have posted plenty there to get them started.

It’s his followers who fund his “ministry”. It’s his followers that give an open ear to what he has to say. It’s his followers’ blindness that continuously feeds his bloated ego.

It makes one wonder, considering the age Pat Robertson is at now, if he even considers the eternal consequences of his actions? He won’t be around much longer, and what will he do when he answers to God on His throne? Pat is only in it for the money, and because of this, he is dragging gullible people down with him. In addition, he has placed himself amongst other “Christian leaders” who continually cause the non-believing public to laugh at and scorn the faith. If it wasn’t for the solid relationship I have in Christ Jesus, I’d probably be laughing too!

Let’s finish this by going back to his recent statements:

Robertson also noted that one especially horrible prediction he made last year--that a terrorist act, possibly involving a nuclear weapon, would result in a mass killing in the United States--did not come to pass.

It appears that Pat is still pushing for devastation in the United States. It didn’t happen last year, I think he’s hoping and praying that it will happen this year. Why? I have a strong feeling in my gut that it’s crap like this that helps increase his coffers.

As for it not happening last year, Pat states:

"All I can think is that somehow the people of God prayed and God in his mercy spared us,"

Sure Pat. When are you going to be selling the Brooklyn Bridge? I might know a few people who are interested in buying. Amazingly enough, they also seem to be your followers!

Why I Am A Conservative

Before I begin, please allow me to stress that in no way do I consider myself an expert in the philosophy of the system of laws, nor do I assume that I understand and know the complete history of the United States, without error. However, I do acknowledge that I have a love for this country, the history behind it’s creation, the desires and motivations behind it’s creators, and the strongest conviction that there has never been, nor will there ever be, a nation as great as this Union of States of which we call “The United States of America.”


Someone has recently inquired as to why I am a Conservative. I am a Conservative in viewpoint because I value freedom. Let me also respond by stating, two hundred and thirty years ago, I would have proudly considered myself a Liberal. I know there are some conservatives out there shaking their heads, wondering if I have just betrayed their process of thought. Please allow me to explain by describing the motivations of two political philosophies using the definitions found at Merriam-Webster’s On-line Dictionary.

As we can see, Liberalism is the state of mind by which its followers strongly hold to the ideas of “the autonomy of the individual and standing for the protection of political and civil liberties”. Conversely, Conservatism is the state of mind by which its followers strongly hold to the ideas of “a political philosophy based on tradition and social stability, stressing established institutions, and preferring gradual development to abrupt change.”


Let us begin the examination of the current conservative mindset based on a short early history of The United States.


Early colonization began as the Europeans sought to explore and exploit the resources of the New World to strengthen their respective Nation States.


In 1620, the Pilgrims, tired of the persecution they were experiencing in England, as well as being aghast at the influences the Dutch were having on their children, set out for the New World. They made landfall in December of that year.


The Pilgrims were English Separatists. In the first years of the 17th century, small numbers of English Puritans broke away from the Church of England because they felt that it had not completed the work of the Reformation. They committed themselves to a life based on the Bible. Most of these Separatists were farmers, poorly educated and without social or political standing. One of the Separatist congregations was led by William Brewster and the Rev. Richard Clifton in the village of Scrooby in Nottinghamshire. The Scrooby group emigrated to Amsterdam in 1608 to escape harassment and religious persecution. The next year they moved to Leiden, in Holland where, enjoying full religious freedom, they remained for almost 12 years. – A Brief History of the Pilgrims by Ron Collins


Through time, they became the royal province of Massachusetts becoming one colony amongst 12 others. These colonies, engaged in trade as well as social relations, soon found themselves to be “brothers” in how they were being treated by the Crown. Taxes were levied against them while denying them representation within the Legislature of England, the colonies’ local authorities were revoked and replaced with those of the king’s choosing, large bodies of troops were placed amongst the colonists during peace time (in effect limiting their freedom), and numerous other injustices were performed.

For an in depth discussion of the political atmosphere of the time, the injustices wrought, what lead to the Revolutionary War, as well as an exhaustive study of the war itself, I suggest the great literary work entitled, “The American Revolution” by Bruce Lancaster. (1971 – American Heritage Publishing Company, ISBN 0-618-12739-9).


In response to the injustices placed upon them, the colonists formed the before mentioned Declaration of Independence which was signed by representatives of all thirteen colonies on July 4th, 1776. It begins:


“When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.


We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”


Some of the complaints listed were:


      • He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.
      • He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil Power.
      • For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:
      • For depriving us in many cases, of the benefit of Trial by Jury:
      • For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever.
      • He has plundered our seas, ravaged our coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.

The people who placed their names to this document knew full well that their lives were now endangered. This was treason to the crown, and the penalty for such was death. For reference on this, please review Patrick Henry.

In 1783, the Revolutionary War was ended by the Treaty of Paris which recognized the sovereignty of the United States. A new nation was born.


The United States Constitution was then completed on September 17th, 1787 with the Bill of Rights and the then 10 Amendments added in during 1791.


Emphasizing personal freedom with limited government control, the afore mentioned documents established Federal and States’ rights as well as individual rights.


A strict set of guidelines were installed to limit total control of the government so that any one person or political body would not be absolute. This is commonly referred to as “checks and balances”. Even the President could be over-ruled or tossed from office if he was found to be abusive of his powers.


Of immense concern was the freedom of the individual states as well as its population. Because of this, the Bill of Rights was created that gave:

· Amendment I: Freedom of speech, religion, press, petition and assembly:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

· Amendment II: Right to bear arms and militia:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

· Amendment III: Quartering of soldiers:
No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.

· Amendment IV: Warrants and searches:
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

· Amendment V: Individual debt and double jeopardy:
No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

· Amendment VI: Speedy trial, witnesses and accusations:
In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defense.

· Amendment VII: Right for a jury trial:
In Suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise re-examined in any Court of the United States, than according to the rules of the common law.

· Amendment VIII: Bail and fines:
Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.

· Amendment IX: Existence of other rights for the people:
The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.

· Amendment X: Power reserved to the states and people:
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

As a result, the United States is the only nation in the world which provides this amount of freedom. We have the right to arm ourselves, we have the right to speak our minds and offend others with our views, we have the right to have a trial by a jury of our peers, we have rights regarding how searches are performed, how many times we can be tried for a crime (if the trial does not have a hung jury), the freedom of assembly, as well as states’ rights.


The efforts of our early Liberal brethren brought great freedoms to the world. These are freedoms that I wish to preserve with all of my heart.


In the beginning, progressive liberal movements were a positive change for this nation. Through those movements, women were given the right to vote, and children could no longer be used as slave labor. Also of equal importance, equality was enforced for all regardless of their skin color.


However, those movements have changed. Instead of being a powerful force for positive change, they have turned into an equally powerful force for the limitations of personal rights.


The battle is now being waged against many of those freedoms that our Liberal forefathers fought and died for. A disease of political correctness has swept the movement.

· Where we once had the right to freedom of speech, we now must be careful concerning what we say, lest we offend someone.

· Where we once had the right to freedom of religion, we are now being pressured into freedom from religion.

· Where we once had the right to bear arms, we are now struggling to have any arms at all.

· Where States’ rights were once of great importance, those rights are now being curtailed in favor of federal rights.


When Constitutional Amendment 16 came in to play in the year 1913, giving Congress the power to tax income, we began to loose control over our finances.


People no longer rely upon themselves or their community for personal growth and support, but now demand that governments of all levels provide for us. People are screaming for universal health care, a welfare system that has been shown to only corrupt individuals and families, and enlarged and gorged government departments to regulate and control many aspects of life and liberty.


Laws are being passed left and right to curtail personal freedoms. Laws have recently been passed which limit one’s ability to smoke, curtail what type of fatty ingredients can be included in food, and also how we can even discuss normal heterosexual relationships in schools. These are just a sampling of what has been happening. Take a look sometime at our bloated government and its many tax funded programs. Spend an evening (or week, as it is required these days) to view government spending, and the wastefulness of it. Understand how it has now become fashionable to take funds from those who have much (mostly through their own personal efforts), and to re-distribute it to others.


There is a reason why the United States is the most advanced nation in the world in regards to technology and medical care. People have always been encouraged to thrive in an atmosphere of competition where the winner was allowed to collect the dividends of their efforts. This is also known as Capitalism. Our advanced medical and physical sciences are a direct result of this. Companies and individuals were encouraged to provide the best products possible because they knew they were going to be well rewarded if they succeeded. The medical students that spent numerous years specializing in all sorts of different fields knew that in the end it would be worth it because not only would they be helping society, but that they would also be financially rewarded. Companies and inventors were pushed beyond currently known limits to produce better products because they knew that the financial rewards would be great.


Yet now there is a strong movement for centralization. We are asking for the government to fund our medical needs, which will in turn directly effects not only the number of medical professionals available, but also the quality of care that the public will receive. Why spend all that time and money learning a profession or researching a product when the end result is that you will not be that much greater off then when you began? Take a close look at the socialized health care systems of Europe, Canada and Cuba for solid references on what really happens. Ask yourself why they would prefer to come to our country for advanced care?


Capitalism, once a strong and proud description of this country, has some how turned into a negative connotation for greed and evil.


View Social Security. In the past, people were encouraged to maintain strong bonds with family, and to actively work towards building their own personal retirement fund. Now we expect the government to provide this for us, freeing us from the responsibilities of caring for our own future. The end result of this mode of thinking is that numerous elderly people are not well cared for, and the tax burden on the normal American has increased ten fold. Instead of promoting values that would encourage people to be more proactive in caring for their future, we are now asked to give more and more to our government in taxes, and to rely upon the government in greater degrees for our needs.


The more we rely upon the government for our needs, every time a bill is passed that states how we should live, or prohibits something, the more we end up giving away, voluntarily, the very freedoms that we should hold dear!


Liberalism has changed from a force for personal freedoms into a force for socialism, where we now rely upon the government for what the average person, one hundred years ago, could provide. We are sacrificing personal liberties on the altar of political correctness and personal sloth.


Today’s Conservatism holds close the dear values that our Liberal forefathers fought and died for. Instead of larger governments and wasteful political funding, we would prefer personal liberties. I want the right to offend you. I want the right to bear arms to protect myself and my family. I want the right to freedom of religion. I want the States to have the right to determine their own future! Don’t you?

Politics and a solution?

I've been thinking... this was the one attraction that drew me towards computers and the on-line community. When you're online, (at least in the golden days), there was no race, no sex. People were judged by their actions, and their character. People were judged by what they say and by what they do.

I wonder if all political debates were limited to being on-line, what would happen? Instead of having "names" and their pictures posted, they would be labeled such as:

Candidate 1
Candidate 2
Candidate 3
etc, etc.

All they would be allowed to do would be to write articles and participate in on-line chats concerning their views. Thus us, the voters would be limited to choosing our candidates by reacting only on where they stand on the issues, their character, and how they respond to challenging questions and comments.

There would be no risk of someone choosing a candidate by how good looking they are, how well they play to the media, whether they are a man or a woman, or what race they are. It truly makes me wonder how these elections would really pan out.

Would the politicians we have in office now be the same? Would the divisions that are evident now exist to such an extent?

Yes, there are people who come from every possible background. Some people are more "liberal" then others, while some are more "conservative".

There will always be those who will hold choice over the life of human beings, and there will always be those who appose them.

There will always be those who want the government to become a "nanny state", and there will always be those who appose them.

And of course, there will always be the middle ground, which I think would consist of most of the population.

If the above scenario were really to happen, I think we'd see a complete difference then what we have today.

However, people can become emotionally charged and extremely defensive. They are unable to look past their emotions and consider the meat of the matter.

Through the media, candidates now petition the public not on policies and character, but on divisive issues such as sex, race, and emotions.

For example, let us consider both presidents Clinton and Bush. Both of them have done some good for the country, yet the political opposition for both presidents would/will refuse to give them credit. Instead they will work on the publics' emotions and attempt to divide the country, just so their political party can become stronger.

In the case of Bill Clinton, the Republican party did it's best to tear him down. Don't get me wrong, I loath Mr. Clinton, but I can and do admit that he did bring some positive benefits to the country. You'll never hear that from the mainstream Conservatives or Republican party.

In the case of George Bush, nothing he does will soothe the rabid hatred directed towards him from the far left and the Democratic party.

In elections, candidates, when they are drawing close in the poles will bring out "attack" advertisements, in the hopes that they will turn the publics' emotions negatively enough against their opponents that they will be elevated to victory.

The politics that run this country are no longer based on issues, but instead on emotions. Each political party is willing, and continues, to divide this country just so that their party will either remain in power or grab it. the evidence is all around us.

So what I ask is for people to step back for a moment. Ignore all those negative attacks. Ignore how well a candidate looks. Ignore what "party" they belong to. Instead, take a long hard look at what they are saying. Is it consistent with what they have said in the past, as well as what they have voted on? Or are they "changing their tune" based on polls and what they think the voting public wants to hear? What is their personal character? Are they known for "dirty deeds", or are they known to put the interests of the public above their own? Remember, our politicians are supposed to be "public servants", placing the needs of the country over their own personal ambitions and the ambitions of the party they belong to.

I have been a Republican for as long as I can remember. However, the Republican party I initially supported is now extremely different then what it is today. In the same vein, the Democrat party is no longer what it was originally purposed to be.

Thus, I no longer consider myself a Republican, but a conservative. The two are quite different these days.

Being "liberal" was what created the United States. It was that particular mindset that drove the colonists to rebel against the oppression of the crown. Being a liberal in that sense was the greatest thing in the world!

On the same token, it was the conservatives that went to war over the issues of slavery and national unity. Being a conservative in that sense was the greatest thing in the world!

However, these days all of that has changed. We now focus on the emotional aspect of politics as well as issues that shouldn't even matter (sex, race, etc).

It would be very tempting to blame the politicians for this. But if we take a serious look at ourselves, we are the ones to blame. The politicians are only using "what works" to get the votes. They know that the American public reacts strongly to emotional ploys, so that is what they use.

Is there any wonder why this nation is in the state it's in today?
