An Attempted Discussion

I had an interesting experience tonight.  I got to talking with a neighbor at the apartment complex here and he started attacking jews and claimed that the two nuclear bombs dropped on Japan equated to a holocaust.  He obviously is clueless when it comes to the facts of the matter - of which the bombing actually saved hundreds of thousands of lives on both sides if America had simply invaded.  He also called Israel of being hardline killers of innocents, and when I tried to talk to him about the human shields that the terrorists used, he wouldn't let me finish. He stated that Israel was incredibly racist, but when I tried to mention how the Muslims and Christians in Israel are free to worship as they please and have the greatest freedoms than in any Arabic nation, he again cut me off.

Basically, it was Conservative vs. Liberal, and near the end he called me an idiot, a bigot, and insinuated to a passerby that I was going to hit him when I had no desire to do so at all, and said that he had no respect for me.  He then went on to state that he hates America's military (to quote, "F&^% America!") and really attacked them verbally.  At this point in the discussion (which he started), I realized that I was talking to a brick wall.

I guess the real issue is that you can't debate liberals.  You bring out logical arguments, and when they can't refute them, they resort to name calling and demonizing of character.  I truly feel sorry for my neighbor and people like him.

Proud American

Folks, I'm going to say it - I'm angry.  I'm angry at people who blame America for the travesty of 9-11.  I'm furious at people who say that America acts like a bunch of thugs killing civilians by invading Middle Eastern countries.  I'm pissed off at Americans who hold their country in such a dim light.

America did not cause 9-11.  There was no government conspiracy, and our support for Israel is no excuse for the 2,996 people who were murdered ten years ago.  The United States supports numerous other countries, why is it that our support for Israel is evil?  It isn't.  Israel is a recognized nation.  They did not displace the Palestinians.  In fact, before Israel's existence, there wasn't even a group called Palestinians! They are a bunch of refugees who were supposed to be repatriated into Egypt and other Islamic nations, but were left to rot so as to be used as an excuse to attack Israel on the battlefield - both moral and militarily. Israel is the only truly democratic state in the area, and a staunch ally of America.  To turn our backs on them because a bunch of blood thirsty killers don't like it amounts to cowardice.

Concerning the civilian deaths in the conflicts, there is no one to blame but the islamists themselves who purposefully hide behind human shields.  In our country's paranoid rules of engagements, our troops can't even shoot at thugs setting up roadside bombs if they are in the vicinity of a civilian population.  They have to watch those death traps being constructed and wonder how many of their brothers and sisters will die because of them.

America went to war as a result of war being declared upon us.  People seem to have forgotten that nations such as Iraq were giving money to the families of suicide bombers and that the entire Middle East raises its children up in hatred and with a desire for death.  While Americans are fighting to live, these people are fighting to die. People say that Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11.  They forget that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and used them on its own people - the Kurds.  As well, people seem to forget that prior to our invasion, military convoys were photographed via satellite heading into Syria.  That, my friends, is how Syria's nuclear program advanced so quickly.  As well, we did indeed find traces of WMDs in Iraq.  It was our folly to announce a date for invasion, giving Saddam time to shuttle off his incriminating evidence.

People say we were wrong to invade Afghanistan.  They forget about the Taliban and how Osama hid out in that country as well as Pakistan.  The Taliban (still in existence today) is an Islamic organization fully bent upon forcing the populace into following strict adherence to Sharia law - an evil law that subjugates and tortures people in the name of Allah.

Should we be in Afghanistan now?  Personally, I think not. Why?  Because our politicians are not allowing our military to fully propagate war.  Just as in Vietnam, our military's hands are tied politically and as a result, thousands of our soldiers have perished.  If we are not going to fight a real war, then we need to get out.

I'm upset at those who say that America is a terrorist nation because we used nuclear bombs to finish the second World War. These people are grossly ignorant of history.  They forget that on the islands of Iwo Jima and Okinawa, the Japanese fought to the death.  They do not understand that the entire island nation of Japan was preparing for a fight to the end.  Civilians were being trained in warfare and if we had invaded the home islands, the casualties calculated were tremendous.  To gauge the fanaticism of the Japanese empire of the day is the fact that it took two bombs to force the nation to surrender.  Even after the first nuclear bomb was dropped, they were still ready to fight to the death.  That was the resolve of our foe.  Those who decry our use of nuclear bombs seem to think that multiple hundreds of thousands of deaths - on both sides - were preferable to the bomb.  Are they bloodthirsty?

Unlike Obama and those who spit hatred and disgust towards this nation, I will not apologize.  In fact, I'm proud of this country's history and am blessed to be one if its citizens. Because of this nation's efforts, Nazism was stopped cold, and France, Britain and many other nations were spared dictatorship.  Communism, that evil humanistic policy of so called "equality," was destroyed.  The USSR fell and the wall between East and West Berlin was torn down.  This country was founded on individualism and greatness.  Her history is full of excellence from all walks of life: science, religion, freedom, technology, education, medical, etc.  How anyone can appologize for this blows me away.

Yes, America does have its faults, and is currently embroiled in a fight for its life thanks to the Progressive Communists at the helm and in our public institutions.  Yet there is still hope as the salt of the Earth Americans are standing up and shouting, "No more!  This is our country, and you can't have it!"

No, my friends.  Don't look to me for apologies.  This nation has nothing to be ashamed of, but instead, has everything to be proud of.  God bless the USA!

This Is Ridiculous

Come on government, this is outright insane! You refuse to profile, and will strip search an old lady or force a mother to drink her own breast milk, while continuing to take away our rights at the airports. Hey, can someone please tell me when, in the last 10 years, someone other then an Islamist from the Middle-East tried to hijack a plane? I mean, seriously! Now there are increased calls for the "nude scanner," random changes at security, and all this other crap. This, my friends, is why political correctness (PC) is such a horrible thing!

When are the communists in Washington going to remove their heads from the dark and damp recesses of their crevasses and start smelling something other than their own crap? I would love to have a few minutes with the bureaucrats up there to attempt to screw their heads back on correctly! But that, of course, is never going to happen.

In all truthfulness, the terrorists have won. They have won by forcing the United States government to cower in fear while suspecting everyone. Thanks to CAIR and the liberal poo-paws, we don't dare to profile! What you are seeing at the airports is exactly what is going to happen to the rest of the United States as these evil progressives continue to pass more draconian laws. Our liberty will continue to erode in the "interest" of everyone's "well-being." We'll have nothing to worry about, Big Brother will take care of everything. Right. You want me to buy what bridge?

I, for one, will never again set foot on a passenger jet. Is it out of fear? Not at all. It's simply because I absolutely refuse to release one bit of my personal freedom. I won't put myself at the mercy of some government goon just so I can take a trip.

We seriously need to hog-tie the communists in office. Then once that is done, bring out the tar and feathers and run them out of town!

Is anyone else angered by this? Are we now just passive citizens waiting for more of our liberties to be taken away? Al-Qaeda is laughing themselves silly out of their nightgowns at how they so easily hamstrung America. They don't care about lives, and the mere fact that one person was sacrificed (it doesn't matter if he dies or spends life in jail) to bring down our transportation must seem like a laughing matter to them. They put up roadside bombs in the war zone next to civilians and mock us as we refuse to shoot for fear that we might hurt an "innocent" bystander. They snicker at us as they strike with impunity, knowing we won't really hit back. They listen to the dictator in the White House make all sorts of excuses for Islam and bow down to their leaders while at the same time removing freedom from his own citizens! Their sides must be hurting from laughter when they think on how the Dept. of Homeland Security (talk about an oxymoron!) labels conservatives as terrorists while refusing to profile the most common offenders!

Are we in a war or are we just playing games? What is happening over in the Middle East is exactly what happened in Vietnam! We have government bureaucrats telling our military leaders what they can and cannot attack! They've put our men and women in danger by their idiotic rules of engagement, and have at the same time encouraged our enemy! Isn't aiding and abetting an enemy also known as treason?

War is horrible. War is nasty. But war must be fought in a manner which reminds our enemies that we will strike back to protect our freedoms! If a few citizens get in the way, sorry, but they're at fault for allowing their countrymen to continue their barbarism! In WW2, we bombed the blazes out of Germany. Then we nuked Japan, not once, but twice! 65 years later, those two nations are our allies. That's right, allies. We showed them that we would not hesitate to use what ever force was necessary to win. We need to do the same in the Middle East.

But no. What we have in power now are a bunch of pansies that continue to remove the rights of their citizens while doing their best to protect the enemy camp. They say that a few deranged people have hijacked a "peaceful" religion. I would have loved to hear them say that about Nazism in 1939! "Hitler is just hijacking a peaceful political ideology." Bull! Our enemies are not only abroad, but there are right here at home occupying the most powerful positions in the nation! They are traitors, backstabbers, liars, dictators - men and women of the utmost darkness, an evil so vile and filthy that it could have only come from Satan himself!
